VACANCY: CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN -WASTEWATER

Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, diagnose faults, calibrate, maintain, install, test and commission telecommunication, control and instrumentation systems to ensure accuracy, protection, availability and reliability of the plant, equipment and process control systems for continuity of water supply in a cost effective manner in accordance with environmental standards and safe working procedures.

Position Key Responsibilities

Maintain, monitor and calibrate offline and automated online process control instruments for high quality water standards and efficient utilization of water resources.

Optimize availability of plant and equipment by diagnosing integrated instrumentation control systems faults and effect repairs.

Reduce downtime of telecommunication and instruments by responding, repairing, monitoring incidents effectively.

Conduct regular inspections and report incidents, condition of infrastructure and trends as per maintenance plan for continued operation of communication, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and instrumentation systems.

Maintain control system databases by identifying current system deficiencies, implementing relative corrective action, as well as updated system software backups and equipment databases to ensure system integrity.

Effectively implements maintenance strategy by planning, coordinating and executing work schedules

Maintain, repair and replace faulty equipment and/or recommends reengineering of existing processes in compliance with Reliability Centered Maintenance System (RCM).

Make recommendations for replacement of antiquated monitoring systems that require excess maintenance or do not meet accuracy standards.

Avails updated control and instrumentation drawings of plant and equipment by modifying in compliance with configuration management requirements

Implements projects by executing, supervising of Control and Instrumentation as required and to certify project completion.

Budgets and implements the budget plan by providing detailed information and specifications of tools and equipment for acquisition.

Complies with functional/practice policies and standards

Adheres to Health and Safety procedure and other related safety statutes

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Telecommunications, Control and Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics

Registered with Engineering Registration Board (ERB)Valid Practising Certificate

2 years related work experience

Valid Duty Drivers License (Class B)

Remunerations

Salary: An attractive Salary Package commensurate to the market
